March 29 - On the Road Again
Key Focus:
Th walk on the Emmaus lives out the Immanuel mission, "I am with you ..."
Emphasize again the 4 ways God is with us through Jesus:
- Story of Jesus (taught from the Scriptures)
- Service to others (Offering Hospitality)
- Worship in context of authentic fellowship (made known in breaking of bread)
- Going to tell others about the message of Jesus (both Jerusalem & to the world)
- Jesus appeared to His Followers repeatedly to show He was alive
- Jesus promised that He would be with His followers as they went on their way sharing their faith
- Jesus called His followers to be His witnesses, beginning where they were and going throughout the world
Key SoHills Emphasis:
- Continue Emphasis on Visitor & Members Cards being turned in with ministers doing the offering segment
- Special focus for this Sunday all the summer missions (Harvest, Bobby Lawson's trip to Nigeria)

- with a key focus in Luke 24:35: "The two went over everything that happened on the road and how they recognized [Jesus] when he broke the bread.
- Parallel focus Luke 22:13-19: They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover. When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.”
After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you. For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”
And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
