August 29 - Bruised, But Not Broken

(The Fall followed by The Promise)

[Possible Kid's Story?]

Sunday Morning: Daybreak & Refresh

  • Genesis 3:15: sin and God's promised remedy
  • Galatians 4:4-7; Romans 5:6-11 focusing on the phrases "when time set had fully come" and "at just the right time"
  • Everything is ruined, broken, and dying
  • In the middle of this darkness, this loss of relationship with God and with each other, God embeds a promise, a future hope, a plan of redemption -- the seed of woman!
  • Principle of grace, of light on the dark side of the mountain!
  • From this principle, we get the seed that we all hold dear, Romans 8:28
  • Lay down the principles for the series
  • Emphasize the importance of parents sharing the stories of our faith so our kids have something to fall back on as they try to make sense of life, which is patently unfair, and still live for Jesus
  • Focus: Built into the fabric of God's story with us, from its very beginning, is the promise that out of life's darkest moments, God brings many of His greatest triumphs for us and in us and through us!
