December 5 - When Spirit Becomes Flesh: Intro
Sunday Morning: Daybreak & Refresh
- John 4:21-24; John 1:1-18; cf. Colossians 1:15-23
- Scripture Reading: Hebrews 1:1-3
- All ministry is incarnational. It involves compassion and concern taking on flesh and blood, real human contact, up close and personal interaction.
- Just as Jesus came and took on flesh and blood to be with us and to bless us, our lives, our ministry, must take on flesh and blood to be with others in the name of Jesus.
- Video of Sagrada Familia will occur with the children's offering.
- Phil will do the children's offering.
- Wes and Ellen Shutt video will also be part of the service today.
- Focus:
God chose to cross the great divide between spirit and flesh so we could know his love for us and become His children!
- Core Thought:
That means ministry is incarnational — that will be the focus on the first December message on the 5th. This will be a short message — 15 minutes. We will have two videos, one on Peru which kicks off both recruiting for Let's Go Trips and also the new children's offering focus. The Shutt video will be positioned based upon the recommendation of Stephen Corbett and the IMT folks. The videos would be a practical tie to incarnational ministry.
