February — Sh!ft: GROUP_inclusively

Sunday Morning: Daybreak & Refresh

  • Key Scriptures: Ephesians 4:1-3; 4:35-5:2; Philippians 1:27; 2:1-11
  • Scripture Reading: Ephesians 4:1-3
  • Stephen Corbett will be doing the Time in the Word this morning
  • Communion Focus: Phil will be leading the communion focus this morning as we focus on being "one body" as we take the "one bread" — focus on rejoicing with those who rejoice, weeping with those who weep, and practicing "one another" fellowship. Key scriptures during the Supper will be 1 Corinthians 10:16-17 & 11:27-30; along with Romans 12:9-16.
    1. Please sing "Blessed Be the Tie that Binds" before the Lord's Supper at both services.
    2. Robert Oglesby will conclude the communion time after the cup with a call to help minister in times of bereavement.
  • Check out the "one another" passages in the N.T. — see list of these passages
  • We continue The Core 7 Focus for our Sh!ft series — group inclusively

    • We need this "one another" element in our life of faith.
    • It was a foundational part of the early church's life.
      1. Temple and house-to-house gatherings a part of daily life — Acts 2:46
      2. Publicly and house-to-house was part of the apostles' ministry style — Acts 2:20
    • This kind of life only happens in the dynamics of a genuinely loving smaller group that is part of a larger community ...
    • When we practice hospitality intentionally as practical love (cf. 1 Peter 4:8-10)
    • When we welcome each other, regardless of background, as Jesus has welcomed us (cf. Romans 15:7)
