Communion Focus:
- 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 Have you ever wondered what Jesus' reunion with his mother was like? Now what will it be like for us to be reunited with thse that we love when Jesus returns, we are reunited with those who have gone before us, and sit at the great wedding feast of the Lamb? Part of Communion is remembering Jesus' death and proclaiming that he is coming again (1 Corinthians 11:26). Like Mary came to the tomb focused on the death of Jesus, we come to this Table much the same way. But a powerful and wonderful thing happens: Jesus meets us at this Table and he is our living, risen, Lord who is promising in this meal to return for us and reunite us with other believers who have gone before us and we will all share in the wonderful feast of heaven (Revelation 19:1-9; Matthew 8:10-12). So we eat, not in sorry, but in anticipation and hope and reunion!
