Focused Kernel: What do you do when all your dreams lie shattered at your feet? You take the dream you receive from God and you obey it!Core Ideas: We often don't associate the birth of Jesus with broken dreams, but the birth of the Messiah is boat that sails on the sea of broken dreams — Israel's broken dreams under Roman domination, Mary's broken dreams of the life she would have imagined as young girl getting married, Joseph's shattered dreams with Mary's pregnancy, and Herod's dreams of unrivaled supremacy in Israel. But into these broken dreams, God brings other dreams that tell of his miraculous gift, that protect the newborn Messiah, and bring Joseph and Mary and Jesus back home to the place where God had planned for them to be all along.
